The C.L.I.M.B. classroom is an alternative to out-of-school suspension.  It provides targeted social and emotional instruction tailored to the child's lagging skills while also ensuring that students are not falling behind  academically.  C.L.I.M.B.  utilizes trauma-responsive approaches and offers in-school support to Tier 2 and Tier 3 s

The C.L.I.M.B. classroom is an alternative to out-of-school suspension.  It provides targeted social and emotional instruction tailored to the child's lagging skills while also ensuring that students are not falling behind  academically.  C.L.I.M.B.  utilizes trauma-responsive approaches and offers in-school support to Tier 2 and Tier 3 students all while heavily involving parents and classroom teachers. We can support teachers AND hold kids accountable while making sure they are safe, loved, and at school learning.  


Schools nationwide have been adopting this framework and working to decrease or eliminate their OSS while changing their views of discipline.

We also know that it takes time for students to form new neural pathways and that time, support, and repetition of new skills are key in creating changed behavior over time.  After completing the C.L.I.M.B. program, students receive ongoing support as the classroom becomes a resource space providing assistance and coaching to both students and staff.

The C.L.I.M.B. classroom environment is  highly restorative and designed to promote safety and connected relationships.  Integrating students  back into the classroom environment after completing the program comes with adult support and facilitated restorative conversations between students and affected parties involved.
